Technology and System for Managing Parks Maintenance

Summary:

This session covers the different types of technologies that are available to Park Maintenance agencies for planning and managing work. Technologies covered included GPS, GIS, Asset Management Systems, Tablet PCs, “toughbooks”, Maintenance Management Systems and work request systems. Each one of the items discussed covered their uses and the pros and cons. Further this session discussed how technology can be utilized to increase accountability and productivity through establishing the proper business practices prior to implementing technology. Finally the presentation concluded with how 2 agencies use various types of technology and how it has been beneficial to them.
