Maintenance Management Systems "101"

LAC, in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendents Association (MSA), performed a day long training session on maintenance system functions and applications. Topics included: 

-Asset Management vs. Maintenance Management
-System Components
-Software Selection
-Related Technology
-Case Studies

The differences between asset management and maintenance management were discussed with clear costs and benefits for both. The various components of each system type were reviewed with a focus on maintenance management and it's practical applications. An ideal software selection process was also reviewed. Demonstrations of several computer systems were given with case studies for a utility agency, medium-sized city, and a large county.
