Mr. Harry Lorick of LA Consulting led a session at the APWA Southern California Chapter's annual conference in Carson, CA. There were two presentations during this session, one of which was led by Mr. Osie Harrell of the City of South Gate.
Mr. Harrell's learning objectives for his presentation included instruction on identifying how you must integrate business process with technology, how to utilize some of the options in the agency's tool kit to manage maintenance, and discussing benefits of connecting best management practices with systems. Mr. Harrell gave an introduction on the background and similarities of the City of South Gate and other agencies, strategies the City of South Gate used for action and lessons learned. He concluded that implementing technology in business processes can only work with management support.
