Project: Construction and Maintenance Audit

Construction and Maintenance Audit

LA Consulting evaluated and reviewed Construction & Maintenance operations at the Port of Los Angeles that included water & land clean-up, pile driving & wrapping, marine carpentry, crane maintenance, gardening, and street maintenance. LA Consulting is currently in the process of assisting in software selection. This is used for assisting the County in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling public works operations.

The Port of Los Angeles is the busiest port in the United States in terms of TEU (Twenty Foot Equivalent Units) traffic with land area that covers approximately 4,200 acres and an additional 3,300 water acres. The Port operates as a landlord port and contains 27 cargo terminals, 270 berths, 62 wharves, and one cruise ship terminal. The Port’s cargo volume has seen an average annual increase of nearly 20% from 1997 to 2007 and the number of cargo containers has increased by 200%.
